A distinguished graduate of Yale College and the Yale School of Art and Architecture, he joined SOM in 1971 and went on to shape some of the most iconic architectural projects of his time. Childs was the lead designer of One World Trade Center and was widely respected for his visionary approach and meticulous attention to detail.
Its sleek exterior, a shimmering curtain wall of floor-to-ceiling glass, captures and reflects the ever-changing hues of the sky, creating a dynamic, luminous presence throughout the day.
